I've tried to watch. I really have. But it's the same old bad radio show, except I have to look at his dumb ass.

Flow? Are you kidding me? The man cannot maintain a discussion for more than 20 seconds before he jumps into something completely off track and entirely irrelevent.

No Thanks.

While it's good to see "Pappy" & Dan Jiggetts back together, that's all I can say about "Monsters in the Morning". It's the same tired shtick "Pappy" had on "The SCORE" before he left last summer...Jagbag? Kudos of the Day? Are you kidding me? :?

Monsters had Joe Cowley on yesterday. Joe espoused the "WHY DOES EVERYBODY ONLY CARE ABOUT THIS NOW?" viewpoint and said that he thinks all the roid guys should get in the HOF because: Why should the snotty, pencilneck media guys who salivate over this crap get the opportunity to get ahead in their careers by covering this and playing patrolmen with HOF Membership? I could not help but think that every time Joe would pin some or all of the blame on Bud Selig, Mike would staunchly argue against it or change the subject.

He sounded exactly like he was being a "Jerry, Jr.", smooching right up to the ass that saved his show for a few more weeks and gave them the biggest media punch since the outset. (I am assuming here that Everyone with ears knows that Reinsdorf and Selig are butt buddies, and that Reinsdorf specifically placed Selig at the helm of baseball so he could control it like a puppet - I have spoken directly to some local MLB Agents and the stories they have, especially about the Mid-90's Strike and how Jerry got his way then, are incredible). He did not sound at all like he really believed that Bud was not responsible - it was almost like he was winking at Jerry R. through the camera, afraid to cross the powerful co-owner of Comcast that could hold much veto power if other Comcasties look to sink Mike's ship someday.

In all seriousness, though, I am finding the show really enjoyable now. It is picking up steam and the flow is getting pretty good - the back and forth between him and Dan was pretty heated on Tuesday's show - and it is really worth watching (real Chicago Sports Fans should really TIVO it and watch it at night because, like I said, it is getting pretty good). It really is like the 90's Score, and I do look at it with a very critical eye. Danny Mac was right when he that the old flavor could and should be brought back.

If some of you hard-headed haters out there really wanted to get back to the roots of why we are at this site - local, hometown sports talk, you really should check it out.

at least the show has one loyal watcher. send this to the show and you will get "kudos of the day"

Heck, if they know they have even ONE listener/viewer that isn't a relative, they may invite Panther to guest star.

No Thanks.

I caught a five-minute segment this morning where the talk veered from A-Rod to Mike's hat. Mike then spent time talking about the printing on the back of his cap -- his hairdo the day before -- and something about his advertisers.

I have watched the show the last 3 days and beside the fact that I now drool, its still the same bad show, but they are trying to cover it up, a few examples.

1. Jen was doing the update after Patrick Sharp got hurt, mike says, well Jen, its going to hurt losing him, since he was just coming out of his slump, she says, well mike, he has 23 goals and 25 assits, so he has been hot....spoon her feeding stats and scripting this shit isnt going to make it better.

2. Mike continues to pimp beyond my tolerance rosemont and NDHS, its not necessary, its cheap and kills anything they may be building.

3. Mike continues to go into stupid mode when trying to make a point, it is reaching a point were Jigs ignores it and continues to make his point, then pappy clearly becomes annoyed that his old material is being ignored, if we are talking flow, we are talking how pappy kills it in seconds.

4. Pappy "great" interview skills. He asks the dumbest questions, they have no valid point and he only asks them to try and be funny, again, killing flow.

This show is a train wreck, its two has-beens thinking that they can rekindle something they had ten years ago, problem is that the talent they use to compete against has got better, they have stayed the same, hence, they suck.

When are they going to lose the microphones?
It's annoying -- since they are not on radio at the present time.

Really, what is it with this? And the "title" sponsor, and the scoreboard sponsors, etc.

Why all of this when they play a bunch of commercials every 10 minutes?

How much sponsorship does this crapfest need? Just makes it look even more cable access like.

You have to watch the show - I watch or flip through (programmed Comcast remote to flip forward 30 secs) every show. Yesterday they had a pretty entertaining discussion about the best championship in Chicago the Past 30 years (Bears, Bulls, or WHite Sox), and, although Mike did routinely get his facts wrong (he kept claiming that it was the 1997 Bulls went 72-10), it was an interesting debate and it was fun to relive those moments.

My take on the three? the 2005 White Sox - they came out of "left field" - literally.

Reason: Bulls had Jordan, Bears were stacked and were expected to win.

How does one tell when Mike North "goes into stupid mode?" For me to recognize his stupid mode, he would have to, at some point, be out of stupid mode, so I could tell the difference. As far as I'm concerned, his mode is a perpetual state of stupidity.
