Chris "The Ranger" Rongey spent a good 2 hours tonight talking about...you guessed it...the Chicago White Sox. He spent a great deal of time talking about suggestions for Carlos Quentin to deal with anger better in the wake of that wrist injury he suffered in Cleveland when he fouled off a pitch by Cliff Lee last September. Rongey also played a taped interview with Sox second base candidate Chris Getz from earlier today in Glendale, AZ. Just so you know, the host of 670 "The SCORE's" Sox pre & postgame shows again this season will be back at the Nissan display at the Chicago Auto Show Thursday night 6-9:15p before WSCR heads off to Los Angeles for Westwood One's NCAA Basketball game between Washington St. & USC.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but why do you write like that? Like it's a column? In case you haven't noticed, it's a little informal around here.

I've asked him that question before, Ranger. I think his answer was "I took journalism classes and I want to inform the fans". Something like that. He does write like a newspaper reporter here. It's not needed. It is weird. We've all learnded to deal with it. He's not gonna stop.

Shark really didn't say he took journalism classes, did he?

Maybe not. I forget. I thought he said he wanted to be a reporter or did some reporting. Something like that. Maybe I'm wrong.

I think he said he tried to have sex with a male reporter once? Not sure

Actually, I went to journalism camp right after I graduated high school, but that's as far as it went. It was at Roosevelt University downtown, and two of the highlights of that camp were meeting Ray Suarez, who used to report for NBC5 back in the '90s & I believe is now with National Public Radio or PBS, one of the two...He's not to be confused with the Ray Suarez who was once my Alderman in the 31st Ward, and his real first name is Regner. I also took in an actual Mayoral Press Conference at City Hall during a month long event during the summer nearly 20 years ago...Last but not least, I didn't mean to offend "Ranger" in regards to an earlier post in this section, and I owe you an apology. It's not often that "Ranger" gets an opportunity to talk something besides White Sox baseball & provide "Scoreboard Updates" for Chicago sports fans. I'm a little embarrassed. You do a terrific job, "Ranger", and I thought you came a long way this past season covering the Sox. I'm real sorry if I offended you, my friend...

SHARK, I'm not at all offended with anything you've said. I was just seriously wanting to know the motivation behind writing the way you do. It's a message board. You can just say, "Ranger was on the Score," instead of saying, "Chris 'The Ranger' Rongey was broadcasting on Chicago's Sportsradio 670 the Score, a CBS radio station." Just wondering...but by all means, carry on.

Thanks for the advice, "Ranger". I'll try not to be as wordy, but I'll definitely be listening later this evening.

SHARK, don't stop being you. Write how you want to write. My question was purely out of curiosity.

Please do not encourage him/her in such things.

Even though Ranger says "I suck" I liked his shows, he didnt really talk all white sox, he talked some cub, bull and some other stuff. But I stand by what I always say, rangers best shows are after a white sox loss, the pain is real...lol
