Watching the replay...They look good. I love Cutler and Forte and they open it up for each other. It's amazing.

Indeed. I had kinda forgotten how good he is. He really does a ton for this offense.

Yep, its tough to beat a 3.9 YPC for a franchise back

Right cuz in yours Rodgers was right with Warner and Brees last year...in mine those two were head and shoulders better.

Cutler and the receivers looked good. If Cutler can ever figure out how not to make the terrible throw he seems to make 1 out of 10 passes he could be a top 5 qb.

It is hard to judge the receivers though because the Giants were missing four starters including two linebackers, a cornerback, and a safety.

That 60 yard throw on the run was ridiculous, Jeff Joniak.

It was nice to see a Bear QB that hits guys when they are actually running. Watch that Orton video from Denver and it looks just like the stuff he ran with the Bears last year. Every guy Orton throws to is standing or jumping up and catching the ball with their back to the end-zone.

I like the look of Devin Aromatherapy. Tall, long arms. I thought that was a very encouraging game for the offense.

As for Forte's 3.9 as a featured rookie running back with no respect given to Kyle Orton, I fully expect his average to increase in his second year with a formidable passing attack in place. As a rookie comparison, LT had a 3.6 and I think we can all agree that Forte will be better than LT.

Cutler certainly seems to like that guy a lot. In the interviews I've heard, he's been more enthusiastic about DA and Bennett than he is about Hester. I get the impression that he'd prefer to have Hester sitting on the bench.

It will be interesting to see who becomes Cutler's favorite target among the WRs. Bennett looks more explosive and athletic than I thought he was. We'll see.

That's probably because it was the first time you, me or anyone else ever noticed him on an NFL field before.

I thought Cutler had a few "wow" moments on Saturday. I couldn't believe the velocity and accuracy on that first throw to Bennett.

I thought for sure that the throw to Aromaremedy was overthrown. That was an impressive athletic catch with good hands. I think in a regular season game that catch gets challenged but it was still impressive.

If the stories from camp on how good this guy looks actually translate to the field, he seems to be the kind of guy they need, bigger target that can go get a ball. I don't know if Bennett is big enough or has the skill set to be that kind of guy and Hester isn't for sure.

Maybe it's Rideau but he's been around a while and hasn't broken through in a bad group of WR in the past.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but I think there's something to that. I definitely don't think Cutler thinks Hester should be the featured receiver.

My thought on the receiver position is that I'm not sure which guys they'll go with, but that I think they have enough talent among the lot of them to get the job done. I don't think they'll have the glaring weakness many people feared at that position.

That first throw looked like it was shot out of a cannon. Very impressive. Also, throwing the ball 60 yards while scrambling out of the pocket was a sight to behold.

I know he's not nearly as big, but does Cutler remind anyone of Daunte Culpepper? Insane arm strength and ability to scramble?

Cutler mechanics are better and he is accurate. Having that type of arm strength an accuracy can lead to bad plays. That first pass to Bennett would have been considered a bad pass if it were thrown by another QB.

Exactly. When I first saw where he was throwing, I was wondering what the Hell he was doing. Then I was like "wow!" There are maybe two or three quarterbacks in the league who can make that throw.

That's a great point. I think we can expect him to do that quite often during the year. But we also need to be ready for the 3int game that he will very likely have this year just because of throws like that.

He can make throws that almost no QB in the league can make.

However, I would hold off on calling him accurate until I see that he can play without throwing the ball right to the other teams hands. From what I've seen here and in Denver and so far this preseason it seems about 1/10 passes ends up being right to the other team. What saves him is that he throws it hard enough and the defensive players normally have a hard time handling the speed of the ball.
