Just announced that the November 20th game of Northwestern vs. Illinois now has a sponsor. Kinda seems if this is successful it could be an every year thing. I'm sure that will have alot to do with Division alignments and things of that nature.

Will they bring back the trophy?

Huh? They'll play for the Land of Lincoln trophy which last year replaced the Sweet Sioux Tomahawk which was deemed one of the racially insensitive things from the Chief Illiniwek era

Its only ridiculous if you are an Illini fan... perfectly reasonable since it is OUR home game. It's a marketing gimmick afterall. The brainchild of AD Phillips after the success of the Winter Classic. Connect it to season ticket purchases. I really llike how they've handled it.

That's not up for debate... it is our home game. That's why Illinois got so few tickets. I'm assuming you are making some crack about the % of Illini vs. NU fans in the stands.

I still can't figure out how to get tickets to this thing. Rooftops are in the $200-275 range depending and nothing is on StubHub yet so I'm guessing NU people haven't gotten tix yet.

I'm trying to make some plans but I'm not buying a half-dozen NU season tickets to go see this game. I might just loiter on Sheffield and wait for field goals.

Then you have nothing to worry about getting tickets. Otherwise try to get the Illinois tickets through their ticket ofice or the Cubs. That's really your only other options

I have a confession. I bought 18 tickets for a little reunion. I sold them out quickly. But I did give two of them to a good friend who will be wearing orange. If I can grab some more, I will do my best to get them in your hands at cost Dr. Ken... you are one of the good ones!

If you buy those season tickets, I'm take the ones for 11/13.

I would probably take Dr. Ken's Purdue/NU tickets.

Dr Ken has two sold now. You only got to sell out tickets to a barn burner against Towson State or something.

How many tix do you guys need?

If I get 4 season tix at $121/per, plus (I can't tell from this order form how much Wrigley tix are - they have 5 tiers) but let's say $100 and I need 5, then I'd be out just about a grand.

So, that's roughly $100 per game for the non-Illini. If you guys take 4 each, then my cost per ticket of Illini is in the $160/per range minus what I can get rid of the other games Michigan State, Central Michigan, and ISU.

I might be interested in doing this.

If you did go with just four, that would be fine too. Once you get past 4 it gets a lot harder to get seats together so we would probably split up anyways.

I wouldn't get more than 4. 4 maximizes the Wrigley buy whose excess would be used to defray the costs of taking on the Central Michigan and ISU games.
