Basically the Sox were 5-11 from Aug 6 - 22 and the Twins were 11-4. That's essentially the difference in the standings. Since then the Twins are 11-5 and the Sox are 10-5. The Sox fucked it up in just over 2 weeks in August...now they have just over 3 weeks in September to fix it.

Looks like they are putting themselves in a fix (dropping another series to the Tigers and losing their 3rd straight game) to drop to 6 games back...rather than actually fixing anything.

I just wanted to make someone (glad it was you) go to the trouble to check on it. I wasn't gonna waste my time.

Todays game looks good for the Sox, with Danks facing Bonderman. However, Danks is working on just 3 days rest, so he may not go deep into the game. The bullpen will have to be effective. But on Thursday its Porcello VS Floyd and thats not a slam dunk. Porcello went 7 inning vs the Sox in his outing on Aug 14th and gave up just 2 runs. He has also gone 7 innings in each of his last 3 starts and won them all.

Well, now Porcello has gone 7 or more innings in each of his last 4 starts and won them all.

Other than C.C. Sabathia & possibly a healthy Andy Pettitte, I actually give the Twins a chance to knock off the World Champions from the Bronx if that matchup comes to fruition...Seriously.

Pettitte does have a great playoff history though. .

Do you have ANY confidence in Javy Vazquez, A.J. Burnett, Phil Hughes or even this Ivan Nova guy the White Sox couldn't beat? I don't!

I think they are all very beatable. I would have much more confidence in Liriano, Duensing and Pavano that any of those guys. Scott Baker had wins in each of his last 5 decisions prior to his injury and if he's back on track, I like him over Burnett and maybe Vasquez too.
