The Rangers signed free agent catcher Yorvit Torrealba to a 2yr/$6.25M contract.

Scratch another team looking for a catcher off the list. I hope this means AJ is coming back to the Sox.

Rockies extended Tulo for 6/120 in addition to picking up his 2014 option. 10 years he is locked up for

I would think they'd have offered him arbitration if that was the case. I don't think they want him.

I think they want him back but at a good price. If they offered arb and he accepted he would get a 1yr deal at a raise from his '10 salary of $6.25M. What if they sign him to a 2yr/$8M-$10M contract? That would definitely be a better deal for the Sox.

That's true. And the chances of someone giving him good money are slim.

SI's Jon Heyman tweeted yesterday that the Sox do want AJ back, but just not at $6.5+/year.

Guys, I would rather see Miguel Olivo back in a White Sox uniform, let Anthony John walk and give Omar Vizquel #12 next year on the South side.

Konerko came up as a catcher. Move him to the back stop and trade and extend Prince Fielder. Instant world series contender.

Scott Bora$ is Prince Fielder's agent...As Jonathon Brandmeier used to say on his show, "Hang up on yourself." Seriously, MLB Network/Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci said on "Hot Stove" last night there is no market for the big first baseman and the Brewers appear to be starting 2011 with him on their roster.

Have Konerko catch and wear #11.

I heard something that the World Champion Giants are supposedly interested in Derek Jeter...I'm not so sure about that one. Meanwhile, Javy Vazquez is going back to the National League, signing a 1 year deal with the Marlins.

The Yankees are supposedly talking to the Royals about a trade for Grienke. I don't see how that could possibly work with his mental status and the pressure of being a yankee and dealing with their media.

Grienke has a list of destinations he can veto, and I'm almost certain the Bronx would be one of them.

Then Giants have agreed to a 1 yr 6.5 Mil deal with Miguel Tejada. That sounds like an extremely bad deal unless he reunites with his former lab and source.

I believe Zach Greinke wants nothing to do with the Yankees, Apologist. That's one of those teams he would veto any deal...

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that Jorge De La Rosa will receive a 2yr/$21.5M contract from the Rockies with a player option for 2013 and a team option for 2014.

The starting pitchers market is really starting to thin out but that's a hell of a lot of money for an injury prone pitcher. The Rockies still need another solid pitcher to slide in behind Ubaldo, De La Rosa and Cook.

The Harangatang may be heading home to beautiful San Diego.

The Harangatang is officially signing with San Diego. He will probably actually do quite well there.

Red Sox and Padres agree in principle to trading Adrian Gonzalez. MLB has agreed to allow Red Sox to talk contract extension with him. Thank you Jesus.

The precursor story to this said the cubs were also in on discussions with the Padres for him. This is a bit absurd how Hendry is making phone calls or telling someone to write about him making phone calls when he is in no way involved in any serious talks. This "we made an effort, but we just came up short" lie to win over the fans is total bullshit.

My guess is this guy is going to get something like a $200M contract. The thought of Ricketts shelling out that kind of money is absurd also.

Also, this pretty much ensures that they will not resign Beltre. He would be a nice piece at 3B for the White Sox.

Berkman to the Cardinals for 1 yr 8 mil.

Doesn't make much sense to me. I guess he will be an extra OFer and 1B.

Berkman should fit nicely in the lineup behind Roidface and Holliday but I read they are going to play him in left and Holliday in right. If they play Theriot at SS this could be the worst defensive team in the history of baseball.

Alright, now normally I am a level-headed, somewhat sabre-metrically oriented fan. These moves are starting to piss me off. The greatest player in the franchises' history since Stan Musial needs to be resigned, and Mozeliak is bringing in marginal retreads like Theriot and Berkman? This makes no sense, Berkman is a washed-up fat first basemen who has no position, and your going to move your $17M LF to right (I'm pretty sure he has never been a RF) and possibly alienate your franchise player by bringing in Fat Elvis?

Pujols has one more year left on his deal and this is a one year deal, so what the problemo?

This team needs a 2B, a 3B, a SS, a backup catcher, a #5 starter, a LH setup man, and a couple more bullpen arms. What it does NOT need is a 1B or LF for $8M dollars. That's another $8m off the front end of a Pujols extension for a part that wasn't needed.

I agree that he's not what they need but it's not stopping them resigning AP.
