Still working my way through a 6th barrel of Longsnapper in my kegerator.

Hoegaarden is superior to Blue Moon in every facet. That is actually the beer that they copied to make Blue Moon before Miller-Coors bought them. That said, I'm not a fan...it's my wife's favorite beer, though (Hoegaarden).

Blue Moon is garbage.

I've been drinking some Sloop Aluminum Army NEIPA this weekend.

It's solid though somewhat disappointing compared to many other stellar IPAs I've had from them.

If you see this one on the shelves, steer clear. It's not representative of Sloop's overall body of work.

It will be sad to see the brewpub go. Great food there, but man there were some miserable assholes working in the pub. They made it seem like Kuma's rolled out the red carpet for all their customers.

I'm sure many of the other brewery pubs will go away. The money these places generate is probably nothing compared to beer sale revenue. Why even bother with the hassle?

Probably. The food at Revolution is always solid, and I kinda liked Half Acre although i only went there once

I read Revolution has closed too ("temporarily"). I don't see why they would come back either.

Juicy Tree: ABV: 10.1% – IBU: 80

The Liberator was made as a 30th birthday gift to Joe Short. As a double IPA, this beast employs a sizable malt bill, but it is the crazy amount of hops added to the boil every 4 minutes, for 120 minutes, that really make this beer special. Fruity, floral, and piney hop flavors penetrate throughout the caramelized malt profile. The Liberator is a well-balanced, full-bodied brew that has a bitter finish due to the post fermentation addition of lemon and orange zest. The name, The Liberator, came from Joe’s name for the Short’s employees who carry out our company’s mission statement as “Beer Liberators”, freeing the masses from their misconceptions surrounding beer.

Batch 10,000: ABV: 13.2% – IBU: 50

Batch 10,000 is a Double Brut IPA with mango and black currant celebrating the 10,000th batch brewed at Short’s. Powerful flavors of mango fruitiness and black currant tartness blend with alcohol notes from the high ABV. A huge amount of hops contributes to a palate coating body that smooths as you enjoy more. The burnt orange color is indicative of the warming finish.

“As always, we can’t make everyone happy with every pack we put out, but we know we’re going to make many, many people out there in the Short’s Brewniverse very, very happy this year.” Newman-Bale concluded.

So far, I've had the Yoda's Blend...very smooth and not crazy bitter for a pretty hoppy beer. Didn't go down like it was 8+% either...could get dangerous.

I went to the Kenosha Piggly Wiggly today because it's the only store I can find my favorite deli ham. For some unknown reason, they had 6 bottle packs of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for $4.99. They also had 4 16oz. can packs of Toppling Goliath (Iowa) Pseudo Sue (IPA) and King Sue (DIPA) for $4.99 when the usual price was $9.99 per 4 pack. What was I supposed to do? I got nothing else to look forward to. I may have to go back tomorrow.......

I didn't check the dates at the store but it did occur to me when I brought them home. The 2 Sierras I've had were 10/30/20. They're in brown bottles and they taste normal. The one King Sue can I had had 2/26/21 stamped on the bottom. They were all in the cooler, not collecting dust in some corner of the liquor department. Either way, Miller High Life gets a little boring, so for those prices, I just said fuck it.

So I went back to Pig in Kenosha today hoping to score some more Toppling Goliath. Nope. Gone. But they did have 12oz canned 6 packs of Sierra Nevada Fantastic Haze for $4.99. 9% ABV. I'm about to crack my first one. Wish me luck.

I'm not big on Sierra Nevada, but did have the Fantastic Haze while at Ron's Place....it exceeded expectations.
Toppling Goliath is quite delicious, as well.

9.99 for King Sue would be a great deal in New England. It's usually about 15.99/4 pack in these parts.

Costco has a Sierra Nevada 24 12 oz can mixed pack with 12 Hazy Little Thing, 6 Wild Little Thing (Sour IPA) and 6 Fantastic Haze (DIPA) for $28. It's a nice deal for those who are over the $15.99+ for 4 16oz cans. Gets you 80% of the pricey beers at less than 50% of the cost
